It may have been written 190 years ago and it may have been written in Russia but the issues in the satirical play The Government Inspector resound as clearly today as they ever did. It was Czar Nicolas I who recommended the play be staged when Gogol relayed the story of the arrival of a stranger in a small provincial town being mistaken for the Inspector from central government they had all been dreading.
Cost: £42 plus £2 cash. This includes the cost of the theatre ticket and a minibus back from the theatre to Midhurst, using the public bus (no. 60) to get to the theatre.
